If you're a web designer or web developer, it is Search Engine Optimization, and not pretty pictures that is the true measure of your success. There are a lot of talented and creative designers out there, but no matter how beautiful a web site you build, if no one can find it, than it’s invisible. And there is nothing beautiful about invisible to a business owner looking for traffic. So what is Search Engine Optimization? The answer is a simple one, but achieving it is more difficult. In a nutshell, Search Engine Optimization, (SEO) are four basic criteria that search engines look for in a web site in order to rank them on a results page when someone types in a search word or phrase. They are back links, key words, longevity of the site, and content relevancy. Importance of order for those elements is much debated but suffice it to say, you need them all. Back Links - You may have thought that popularity contests ended when you left high school, but sadly, Google brought it back with a vengeance! The more people that like you, (and show their love by placing a link to your web site on their web site), the more Google, Yahoo! IE and Bing like you, too. Key words - Embedding proper and relevant key words into your code helps search engines match visitors appropriately. Longevity - In the world of the internet, time matters. The longer your site is up and functioning the more respect your paid by the big search dogs. Content - Matching the content of your web site to what your client base will potentially be searching for is key. And embedding these key words both in your code and in your content of your site will bring your rankings up dramatically. There is a lot of confusion around choosing key words to plant into your content and code and many clients seemed puzzled by this more than any other factor so I am pasting a sample of the key words I planted into my content and code for you to see what it is all about. The key words I use for Jamie Lee Design Agency in Raleigh, North Carolina are as follows: web design agency, web design, raleigh web development, creative design agency, web site design agency, graphic design agency, ad design, freelance web design, nc web design, graphic design agencies, graphic design firm, graphic design companies, creative web site design, creative web design, web site designer raleigh, search engine marketing firm, creative design, chapel hill raleigh, web design raleigh triangle, creative services, web design firms, web design firm, top web design companies, web design companies, award winning web design, web agency, web design service, best web design company, web design company, custom web design, top web design, affordable web design, triangle web design, web designers, web design and development, seo web design, web designing, web design services, professional web design company, small business web designer, best web designers, web designing companies, web site design firms, web page designers, web page designer, web site design, web site designer, web site designs, web site redesign, web redesign, small business web site design, cheap web site design.
